Easter Happenings for K and A

It was a wet and wonderful Easter here. The girls had lots of fun, as you'll see in the photos below. Our neighborhood egg hunt usually has well over 100 kids, but this year barely 20 showed up because it was pouring rain. The girls LOVED tromping around in their boots with their new umbrellas, searching the colorful little salal bushes (with leaves of green, red, orange, and brown) to find eggs. At home the Easter bunny came indoors and left plastic eggs filled with numbered slips of paper, on which words were written, which when arranged gave clues as to where the baskets and presents were hidden. Great fun for little treasure hunters. Grammy and a friend came for lunch and home-made strawberry shortcake. Before dinner, as the sun dipped below the clouds and set the sky aflame with a glorious pink sunset, we took a walk through the neighborhood in our fleece and gore-tex, and the air was thick with the aroma of wet earth and spring blossoms. Delightful!
