It was an unexpectedly beautiful morning, so I decided to trim the ferns, hack away at the ever invasive blackberries, pull noxious weeds, and start to prepare the garden beds for spring planting. For K and A this time outside meant time to get dirty. Recent rains had filled the sandbox to the top with water (the lid leaks like a seive) so there was much fun to be had digging for waterlogged sand. They made mudpies, or more accurately, very wet "sandpies," with lots of grass thrown on top for "frosting." Needless to say, a bath had to follow.
