Some outdoor adventures

One evening last week found us at a park in Seattle. A father was there with his young daughter, who had aspirations of joining the circus. He'd set up a tightrope between two trees, and many of the kids in the park took a turn, including A, who is usually terrified of heights. A was so excited that she walked it twice. K took a few careful steps, then retreated to the meadow where she picked dandelions, wishing on each one: "I wish I had a monkey. A REAL monkey."
