K had her birthday, and it was a simple one this year. No big party (Mommy failed to get it together in time). K baked and decorated her own cake. We spent the afternoon at a Japanese festival. She had a small celebration at school with singing and walking around the sun. At her request we had a family dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory where the wait staff and everyone in the restaurant is encouraged to sing "Happy Birthday" to you. She got lovely monkey themed gifts, and spent her birthday money on a Monkey costume. Her birthday wish: "I wish I had a monkey. A REAL monkey." Well, she can wear her costume and pretend to be one.
