School would start soon, so Grammy and the girls and I packed into the van for our last adventure of the summer -- a visit to Northwest Trek, a wild animal park featuring animals of the Pacific Northwest. There was an hour long tram ride, with open windows, through the preserve. There were smaller exhibits accessed by trail, where the carnivores (bears, cougars, etc) were safely enclosed in large habitats. There was an interpretive center with crafts and hands-on displays. It was a delightful day, the weather was ideal, and it was a perfect close to summer.
