Thistle Theatre
We attended the performance of "Peter Rabbit" at Thistle Theatre this past weekend and it was very impressive. The puppets are jointed for realistic movement, and operated with sticks from behind. The puppeteers are dressed in black and stand in the darkness out of the spotlighting on the elevated stage. This ancient Japanese form of puppetry called Bunraku was something I'd never seen before and was quite different, in a good way. A and K were mesmerized and sat in their seats for the whole show. After, the children were able to meet the puppeteers and see the puppets up close. We bought season tickets and will be back for more!
