First time Skiing!
We wanted to introduce the girls to skiing last winter, but there was hardly any snow. Several local ski areas were open less than 30 days total all of last winter! Hoping for different weather, we rented ski packages for both girls in November this year. It has been snowing like crazy in the mountains ever since!
This past Sunday we decided to try the girls one at a time on the slopes with Daddy. (Mommy's never been on downhill skis). Both girls have a fear of heights, and A is by nature a very nervous and cautious child, so we weren't sure how they'd handle the chair lift. Fortunately we played it up enough that the girls happily forged ahead. We reminded them that their six year old friend Navina in Switzerland loves to ski and started when she was smaller than they are now. And that big sister L started skiing at four years old. Looking around there were dozens of little skiiers and boarders smaller than our girls, and probably younger, too.
A did 7 runs and K did 6 runs. They can't wait to go back for more.
