Wild baby bunnies, April 25, 2006
We were on the sidewalk when two young teen boys walked up and asked us if we wanted a pet bunny. Their dog had discovered the nest of babies in their backyard, and was intent on digging them up. The boys called the humane society, but they wouldn't take them because they were wild bunnies. So the boys thought they'd offer them around the neighborhood as pets. Thankfully I was their first stop. My dear husband drove us an hour north in rush hour traffic to reach the nearest regional wildlife center that would accept them. They will be hand fed until they are old enough to survive and be released in the wild.
