I adopted Serengeti and Maxine as adult cats in 1988. They have been inseperable ever since. When Serengeti fell ill from old age diseases a few weeks ago and stopped eating, Maxine stopped eating, too, and spent all day grooming Serengeti and sleeping beside her. Serengeti weighed 3 pounds 14 ounces in the end. It was a heart breaking decision, but I had the vet put Maxine to rest the same day, as I knew she'd die shortly thereafter from a broken heart anyway. I miss them terribly, my little feline companions.
